Formed in the year I was born, I have waited my whole life to hear the 11 piece ensemble play live and the Jameson Vic FallsCarnival @VicFallCarnival is a befitting juncture and granted I shall finally see them live. I can already hear Claire Johnston @CJMangoGroove bellowing the renowned standard Moments Away (it’s on my all time favourite list) as a tear of melodious euphoria rolls down my cheek and hear the rest of the band singing Do You Dream of Me as my dancing feet stomp the night away into 2016.
Mango Groove Performing Live
With a career that has spun 3 decades, the Joburg natives Mango Groove are slated to headline Africa’s biggest New Year Musical Fête ushering revelers into the New Year from midnight. The internationally renowned Cape Town hommies Jules, Ben and Matthew collectively known as Goodluck @Goodlucklive are also billed to bring their cosmic energy and are unlike any other act you’ve ever seen live. I saw them live shutting it down at the R & G @RandGZambia Oktoberfest, I’ve been a follower since and look forward to hearing Figure of 8, Trickery and their chart topping hits including their new single Back In The Day.

The fomo of missing two consecutive Vic Falls Carnivals (VFC) still haunts me after dark. A militia of millions won’t stop the Godfather of Zambian live blogging from curating this musical extravaganza. It’s no urban legend I really jogged the full 45Km to Oktoberfest. With less than a week to go, my state of mind is #JVFC2015 or die!

The founders Sean Young and Blessing Munyenyiwa @lovefourafrica who established the Vic Falls Carnival in 2012 have reeled in the help of Seed Experiences @SeedExperiences to take this experience to the next level. From the line up of acts to the sponsorship, the world class #JVFC2015 will be lit… It will be of epic proportions. Italian eyewear giants CARRERA @carreraworld are backing the festival as a major sponsor. CARRERA have a new collection and some slick designs which fest goers can access on their website www.carreraworld.com, to take their whole fest mode to the next level. Anyone who knows yours truly @ZambiazHarshTag knows sunglasses are a way of life for me (I even wear a pair to bed), I’ll need at least three sets of CARRERAs (some in multiple colours) to narrate the state of affairs right. My top three fest picks from the novel collection are the Carrera 6008 in AvanaI for the build up on the 31st and the Blu for night vision nocturnal activities.

The 30th will require heavy artillery in form of the new classic Carrerino 15 Blu.

The pilgrimage to the Carnival on the 28th or 29th will require something special in form of the Carrera 100 SLE,

I can jog in them, hop on a bus with them, do an epic road trip/hitchhike or catch a flight and still look the part on the road to #JVFC2015. Now that I got my visuals sorted, need to sort out a place to catch some Zzzz.

Love For Africa Travel Agency @lovefourafrica have the scoop on where to lay your head after a hard day and nights boogie of partying, check out their Facebook page www.facebook.com/loveforafrica.travel  and get in touch with them pronto for some super packages on where to crash and recoup. For the adventurous at heart and campers, you can check in at the GYPSY Outpost. The headline sponsors Jameson @jamesonwhiskey have all your whisky needs and branded paraphernalia under control, Zambezi Lager will also be flowing like the Zambezi river for the beer lovers. Coca Cola as always have that cool ice cold refreshing beverage to keep the perched party people refreshed. DStv @DStv is also in hard core support making sure you feel every moment of the event. Namibia tune into 99fm @99fmUrbanSounds and Zimbabwe Zifm stereo @ZiFMStereo as you await the festivities to begin. And now back to the music.

Dj’s on the ones and twos slated to keep the tempo up and the masses moving and grooving include international maven Jason Le Roux,  Zyon Black @ZyonBlack and back to live acts again the ever energetic and musically versatile Mokoomba @Mokoomba as well as Monark @monArkband. There will be no shortage of activities to keep you occupied from Steam Train & Secret Bush Party on the 29th to the multiple parties around town (entrance will be free for Carnival ticket holders). The musical extravaganza and the live acts will all be performing at Vic Falls Primary School which is the venue of the Carnival. It is Africa’s biggest New Years Eve Party, if you didn’t have plans for New Years Eve now you do #JVFC2015. Way to end 2015 and start 2016, beam me up to Jameson Victoria Falls Carnival, it will be obscene levels of epic and 1000 selfies. Yes I would say yes to being the Carnival jester. #JVFC2015 Get the Carnival trending.
