There’s something for everyone this year, from the party animals to the turn up movement and even the grown folk. The official standard on everything cannot sign out without giving you the list of must attend shindigs of the year. You might see one of me or four of me depending on what state you’ll be in when I touch down at where you’ll be fading 2015 and waving in 2016. Time to turn up and list the Top 5 New Year’s Eve Parties of 2016., Cue the fireworks and an espresso for yours truly @ZambiazHarshTag the all-round event sensei has the scoop you need.

New Year’s Eve Sundowners at SKY Bar Hosted by Dj Eleftherios Mukuka  

A great new year’s eve begins with a great build up. What better way to kick start the festivities than with a Sundowner session at the location with the best view and ambiance in Lusaka to some world class compositions provided by a local. Located on the rooftop of Foxdale Court @FoxdaleCourt, Lusaka’s only green shopping mall/office park is Sky Bar. Providing the tunes on the 1ne’s and 2wo’s will be non-other than International renowned house Dj/Producer Eleftherios Mukuka @elmukuka. Come and hear him spin his original music including hit record Getting There featuring Abel Chungu @AbelMusuka. You do not want to miss the last sunset of 2015 and the energy of an authentic Zambian house set.

Sky Bar is the mecca of Zambian house and has an unmatched ambiance due to its unique setting and location as well as the warm reception of the owner of the bistro. Debbie, who is always present to ensure every patron, receives the highest standard of service the milieu is known for as well as a choice menu of food and drink also of world class pedigree. Aside from the distinct sunset and view, you get the same vibe you would get in Soho or Manhattan establishment or any classy establishment worldwide.   

I saw him play at the R & G Oktoberfest as well as at bring the house down at the Horse Shoe Halloween party. Believe me when I tell you that you do not want to miss the intensity and contagious energy Eleftherios transmits through the speakers that will keep you tapping your feet and bouncing from side till he plays the last note. K50 gets you in and as the first gig of the day it kicks off at 4:30pm and ends at 8pm. The first 50 people get free tapas to go with their beer or cocktail. There is no other vantage point in Lusaka (perhaps sauf Findeco which really doesn’t count and still can’t compete) where you can see Zambia/Africa’s most beautiful sunset, as you sip on a cool beverage to mellow house sounds. The soundtrack to the final sunset will be provided by the Zambian/Greek house maven who is maestro charged with the task of ensuring things are moving and grooving. Get that K50 ticket early and kick start your New Year’s Eve in the sky watching the sun go down at SKY Bar with the last Eleftherios @elmukuka gig of 2015.

Ben and Kiki, our very own Zambian version of The Carpenters or Cher and Bono and the tightest live act and critically acclaimed Nexus Band will be on hand belting all your favorite new skool and old skool hits. Where you at the Joss Stone gig? No you say? Yeah it sold out and Nexus also burnt the house down! The WEB has been a certified live music establishment, Joss Stone’s coming basically just bona fide that and gave the Nexus lead singer the green light to take it to the next level. I always look forward to hearing Nathalie belt classics like Can’t Nobody or Dance With Somebody in her rich soulful voice. The band are also equal to the task churning out some amazing melodies and keeping the funk alive. Keeping It Strictly 80’z and 90’z At The Twangale Park New Year’s Eve Festivities

I’m an 80’z baby and cannot resist sounds from the 90’z, the soundtrack of my life and my peers can testify to that. The greatest era in music circa the millennials, the epoch of house parties, BBQ’s and that fashion that’s coming back round again. Je peux déjà entendre Claire Johnston @CJMangoGroove beuglant les Moments standards Away (il est sur ma tous les temps favoris) comme une larme d'euphorie mélodieuse roule sur ma joue et entendre le reste du chant de bande Vous rêvez de moi comme je mes pieds qui dansent Stomp la nuit en 2016. Avec une carrière qui a filé 3 décennies, le Joburg les indigènes Mango Groove

 sont prévus pour le plus grand carnaval du Nouvel An musicale de l'Afrique titre inaugurant fêtards dans la nouvelle année à partir de minuit. La renommée internationale de Cape Town Hommies Jules, Ben et Matthew collectivement connu sous le nom Goodluck @Goodlucklive sont également facturés à apporter leur énergie cosmique et sont contrairement à tout autre acte vous avez jamais vu en direct.

Formed in the year I was born, I have waited my whole life to hear the 11 piece ensemble play live and the Jameson Vic FallsCarnival @VicFallCarnival is a befitting juncture and granted I shall finally see them live. I can already hear Claire Johnston @CJMangoGroove bellowing the renowned standard Moments Away (it’s on my all time favourite list) as a tear of melodious euphoria rolls down my cheek and hear the rest of the band singing Do You Dream of Me as my dancing feet stomp the night away into 2016.

With a career that has spun 3 decades, the Joburg natives Mango Groove are slated to headline Africa’s biggest New Year Musical Fête ushering revelers into the New Year from midnight. The internationally renowned Cape Town hommies Jules, Ben and Matthew collectively known as Goodluck @Goodlucklive are also billed to bring their cosmic energy and are unlike any other act you’ve ever seen live. I saw them live shutting it down at the R & G @RandGZambia Oktoberfest, I’ve been a follower since and look forward to hearing Figure of 8, Trickery and their chart topping hits including their new single Back In The Day.

The fomo of missing two consecutive Vic Falls Carnivals (VFC) still haunts me after dark. A militia of millions won’t stop the Godfather of Zambian live blogging from curating this musical extravaganza. It’s no urban legend I really jogged the full 45Km to Oktoberfest. With less than a week to go, my state of mind is #JVFC2015 or die!

The founders Sean Young and Blessing Munyenyiwa @lovefourafrica who established the Vic Falls Carnival in 2012 have reeled in the help of Seed Experiences @SeedExperiences to take this experience to the next level. From the line up of acts to the sponsorship, the world class #JVFC2015 will be lit… It will be of epic proportions. Italian eyewear giants CARRERA @carreraworld are backing the festival as a major sponsor. CARRERA have a new collection and some slick designs which fest goers can access on their website www.carreraworld.com, to take their whole fest mode to the next level. Le 16 Décembre 2015, ils ont ajouté à leur gamme globale des dossiers qui ont le plus à pizza dans l'histoire de la Zambie et le continent Africain avec une longueur de 148,4 cm. Avec 3 magasins déjà le long de la ligne de chemin de fer le tout dans un temps étonnant d'un an, du 1er magasin de @pizzahutzambia Pizza Hut à East Park Mall @eastparkmall tourné 1. Il était tout cela et une tranche avec toutes les garnitures qui sied à fêtes d'anniversaire inaugurales.

Les célébrations des niveaux d'énergie étaient indice d'octane élevé et qu'il était donc l'accumulation à l'extravagance très attendu. La recherche était pour les gens de “chow down” plus grande pizza de la Zambie, la balise de gagner la compétition a été annoncé sur la page Facebook de Pizza Hut Zambie ainsi que Twitter et la course pour attraper une tranche était sur. Vêtue d'une robe rouge de moteur de feu correspondant à l'emblème officiel Pizza Hut, Beauté Clarice Shamanga @BShamanga le gagnant qui a vaincu la compétition était à portée de main avec son sac à la remorque prêt à dévorer le prix. Lorsqu'on lui a demandé elle a affirmé qu'il prendrait ses 45 minutes pour vider la boîte, formalités et officiant toutefois une légère destinés poids avant les papilles avides pourraient se livrer.

hey were the first franchise to deliver pizza to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, also the first pizza company in history to deliver pizza to space. On 16^th December 2015, they added to their global gamut of records making the largest pizza in the history of Zambia and the African continent with a length of 148.4 cm. With 3 stores already along the line of rail all in an astonishing time of one year, the 1^st Pizza Hut @pizzahutzambia store at East Park Mall @eastparkmall turned 1. It was all that and a slice with all the toppings befitting the inaugural birthday festivities.   

The celebrations energy levels were high octane and so was the buildup to the highly anticipated extravaganza. The search was on for people to chow down Zambia’s largest pizza, the tag to win competition was announced on the Pizza Hut Zambia Facebook page as well as Twitter and the race to grab a slice was on. Dressed in a fire engine red dress matching the Pizza Hut official emblem, Beauty Clarice Shamanga @BShamanga the winner that defeated the stiff competition was on hand with her pack in tow ready to devour the prize. When asked she claimed that it would take her 45 minutes to empty the box, formalities and officiating however meant a slight wait before the eager taste buds could indulge.

The Zambia Weights & Measurements Agency (ZW & MA) in conjunction with their comrades from the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZBS) were on hand to make sure the occasion was legitimate and do due diligence in regards to the pizza’s official measurements. After the tabulations, the Pizza Hut birthday pizza was indeed officially certified Zambia’s largest pizza.

Aside from setting records and making great pizza, Pizza Hut Zambia also makes people’s lives great. With three stores and plans to expand further, the enterprise has created jobs. It was evident from the smiles on the employees’ faces I spoke too that they indeed enjoy their jobs and are happy working for the brand a year later. The store manager in his speech also highlighted the important work the franchise does in the community. The add K 1 initiative sees customers adding an extra kwacha to their bill goes a long way to helping the less fortunate, Pizza Hut have been supporting the Robert Shitima Project from day one and continue to support this noble endeavor a year later. So gracious are their efforts that some of their staff have been picked from the hospitality training they offer. Thus keeping kids off the street in exchange for education, creating jobs through expansion and making great pizza is but a slice of just how great Pizza Hut “Make It Great.” So as Pizza Hut Zambia turns 1ne, we say Happy Birthday and look forward to more stores opening and ambitious heroic fits in 2016.
